Sur ce plateau désertique du sud du Pérou, d’immenses lignes et dessins d’animaux, appelés géoglyphes, soit de grands dessins, ou grands motifs tracés à même le sol, et inscrits par le peuple Nazca, dont les premières traces remonteraient à environ 2.300 ans. Excepté quelques représentations stylisées d’animaux, gigantesques – de 50 mètres à près de 300 mètres d’envergure – l’on aperçoit surtout des lignes droites dont certaines font plusieurs kilomètres de long et le tout s’étale sur des milliers de kilomètres carrés.

Ces figures sont communément appelés « les pistes de Nazca » et certains n’ont même pas hésité à affirmer dans le passé qu’il s’agirait de « pistes d’atterrissage pour vaisseaux extraterrestres »… Mais comment imaginer sérieusement qu’un peuple capable de traverser l’univers puisse avoir besoin d’une piste d’atterrissage tracée sur le sol pour se poser comme un avion bien de chez nous ? Cette hypothèse, ne reposant sur rien d’autres que sur les suppositions d’un « auteur alternatif » est souvent mise en avant pour se moquer de la recherche alternative en général (cf INA : « Explorateurs des secrets de l’univers ou bricoleurs de l’impossible », débat télévisé de 1974 présenté par Bernard Pivot).

Cette hypothèse de « pistes d’atterrissage pour vaisseaux extraterrestres » apparaît selon moi aussi stupide que l’hypothèse de motifs à destination de dieux, afin de leur demander de l’eau, rare dans la région, car ce serait vraiment prendre les anciens pour des imbéciles, en considérant qu’un peuple puisse être capable de venir s’installer dans une région désertique pour ensuite passer l’essentiel de son temps à tracer des motifs et lignes gigantesques pour faire venir la pluie ! À cette époque, on avait probablement mieux faire pour occuper son temps qu’à le perdre dans une région aride extrêmophile où rien ne pousse. (…)

Bien que ces figures soient immenses, leur réalisation, difficile parce que demandant un certain recul par rapport au sol, est loin d’être impossible, preuve est faite. Certains chercheurs ont montré qu’il n’était pas nécessaire de disposer d’un avion ou d’une technologie particulière pour les exécuter : un motif dessiné dans une grille, ensuite croqué au sol de manière considérablement agrandie permet de faire apparaître les contours d’une figure gigantesque, ceci s’appliquant principalement aux figures animales plutôt qu’aux triangles, trapèzes et autres polygones bien plus spectaculaires. Mais cela ne nous explique pas le pourquoi ?

Il est intéressant de remarquer que les figures zoomorphes représentés, tel le singe, sont des espèces animales qui ne se rencontrent pas dans cette zone géographique, mais plutôt très loin de cette partie du monde, en pleine forêt tropicale humide, où eau et végétation ne manquent pas, ce qui signifie que les auteurs de ces tracés connaissaient au moins ces formes animales et donc nécessairement d’autres endroits du Pérou. Cela exclut de fait que ce peuple se serait obstiné à demeurer dans cet endroit désertique en suppliant désespérément les dieux de lui fournir de l’eau car n’ayant pas eu connaissance de régions plus clémentes.

Une des raisons pour lesquelles j’ai souhaité évoquer ce site est qu’il existe un décalage flagrant entre les figures animales, représentations de choses concrètes, et ces immenses motifs géométriques abstraits. Même contraste qu’avec les blocs de pierre sculptés aux motifs en « H » de Puma Punku et leur aspect graphique synthétique de conception toute « moderne ». À Nazca, les deux styles de motifs, curieusement, se recouvrent par endroits, comme s’il y avait deux époques et deux pensées différentes.
